Oohrah!

Athletes vs. Epilepsy is excited to announce that we have been awarded charity partnership for the 2017 Marine Corps Marathon & 10K. Held in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC, the mission of the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is to promote physical fitness, generate community goodwill, and showcase the organizational skills of the United States Marine Corps.

The MCM was established in 1976 and is currently the fourth largest marathon in the United States and the ninth largest in the world. The event field of 30,000 is composed of runners from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and more than 50 countries. Known as "The People's Marathon," the MCM is open to all runners ages 14 and above and is the largest marathon that does not offer prize money.

The 42nd MCM and 10K will take place on Sunday October 22, 2017, a few weeks before the United States Marine Corps birthday on November 10.

As a member of the Athletes vs Epilepsy team you have an opportunity to choose the distance that works for you 26.2 miles or the 10K (6.2miles).

Register today and join other Athletes vs Epilepsy participating in the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday, October 22nd and raise funds to help stop seizures and find a cure for epilepsy.  Your efforts will raise awareness in support of the nearly 3 million people in the United States who have epilepsy.

Each Athlete vs Epilepsy will receive:

  • Free Race Entry!
  • Personalized Athletes vs Epilepsy online Fundraising Page to tell the story of why you are running.
  • Your choice of an Athletes vs Epilepsy Performance racing t-shirt or singlet
  • Fundraising tips
  • Invitation to the race weekend activities!

As a member of an Athletes vs Epilepsy 2017 Marine Corps Marathon & 10K team, you are committing to fundraising minimum requirement of $1,200 for the marathon or $700 for the 10K.  You are responsible for any difference in funds not raised for your race by November 22, 2017.  EF will charge any outstanding balance on November 22, 2017.
