**The Epilepsy Foundation is closely monitoring the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus). In light of the updated CDC and World Health Organization guidelines, we have modified our campaigns to fit the new social distancing standards. We encourage you to continue to practice these social distancing and hand washing guidelines.  We appreciate your continued support during this challenging time.**

Gear Up for Epilepsy has set a huge goal for 2020 and we need your help to accomplish them!

Raise $41,000 in 5 months!

Gear Up for Epilepsy was inspired by a young cyclist, Charlie, who dreamed of riding with his father, Clif across the United States.  Unfortunately, he would not be able to accomplish that dream as his ride was cut short by SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death from Epilepsy) in August of 2016.

In 2017, Charlie’s parents, Clif and Arleen and numerous members of their family and community departed on a 2-month, 3,712 mile cross-country bicycle trek in honor of their son, to raise funds and awareness for the Epilepsy Foundation and its SUDEP Institute.

Every year, 3,000 people in the United States die from SUDEP.

This year, Clif is planning to ride over 4,100 miles traveling the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail between Astoria, Oregon to Yorktown, Virginia in honor of their son.  *Clif and his family are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 affecting us all and determining how it will impact their ride. They remain hopeful.

Use your own bike, borrow a friend’s bike, use a stationary bike or create a virtual ride.

Join Athletes vs Epilepsy Gear Up for Epilepsy (GUFE) to help raise much needed funds and awareness for the Epilepsy Foundation and in support of the 3.4 million people living with the challenges of epilepsy and the families of the 3,000 people who die every year from sudden unexpected death from epilepsy (SUDEP).
